  • Fixed a Mermaid diagram sometimes rendering cropped/oversized in the live preview and PDF/DOCX/HTML export, regardless of the "scale=" value used - a timing issue in capturing the diagram, not the sizing itself
  • Renaming a document (click on its name in the Action Bar) now keeps the .md/.mdv extension automatically if you type a new name without one, instead of saving the file with no extension
  • Fixed a wide Mermaid diagram getting cropped in the captured image itself, so shrinking it with "scale=" (or any other size) no longer just shrinks the already-cropped result
  • Fixed an error message popping up on every window when closing several MD Visor windows at once (e.g. "Close all windows" from the taskbar)
  • Improved file association for .md and .mdv files on Windows 10, so MD Visor is recognized correctly as the default app
  • Fixed pasting an image copied from Adobe Acrobat/Reader (Ctrl+V) - it used to save as a blank white image
  • Images can now be sized as a percentage of the page width (e.g. "=50%") - no need to know or guess a pixel number; works in PDF, DOCX, HTML, and the live preview
  • Fixed an image near the bottom of a PDF page rendering shrunk instead of moving to the next page - now happens consistently regardless of the requested size
  • Fixed Ctrl + mouse wheel in the PDF print preview scrolling as well as zooming
  • Fixed "Sync scroll with preview" not working at all, and fixed it getting stuck near the end of the document when scrolling the editor back up from the bottom
  • Fixed DOCX export crashing on a heading that mixes plain text with bold or inline code, e.g. "## Using **bold** and `code` in a heading"
  • The "{.center}" and mermaid "scale=" suggestion popups now also appear when the cursor arrives there by other means (arrow keys, a click), not just by typing the trigger character
  • Fixed the size-suggestion ghost-text hint overlapping and garbling an image reference that was already sized
  • Fixed the "/" command popup sometimes showing a distracting scrollbar across a long snippet name
  • DOCX and HTML export are now included for everyone - no license required
  • DOCX and HTML export now match your chosen document style - fonts, colors, table borders, and admonition colors, not just the built-in look
  • Admonitions ([!NOTE], [!WARNING], etc.) now render in DOCX export - previously unsupported
  • Inline math (e.g. "the result is $E=mc^2$") now renders correctly in DOCX and HTML export, including inside table cells - it used to silently disappear
  • Fixed a DOCX table layout bug where a row with a tall formula left extra blank space underneath it

  • Your own Snippets now show up in the "/" menu too, named after their file, so they're reachable without leaving the keyboard - if a snippet shares a name with a built-in command, it's labeled "(snippet)" so the two are never shown identically
  • The CSV delimiter setting gained a fourth option: Pipe ("|")
  • Documented column (box) selection - Alt+drag, or Alt+Shift+arrow keys, selects a rectangular block across multiple lines; typing or pasting then applies to every line in the block at once
  • Charts can now use engineering log scales - Semilog X, Semilog Y, or Log-Log, same idea as MATLAB's semilogx/semilogy/loglog
  • Charts can now have explicit X/Y axis limits (like matplotlib's xlim/ylim), settable in the chart block or the Insert Chart dialog
  • Mermaid diagrams render at a much higher resolution - text stays readable even with two or three diagrams side by side
  • New keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+W (close), Ctrl+P (export PDF), F7 (check document), Ctrl+1..5 (switch editor/preview layout and view mode)

  • Images can now be resized with just a width (e.g. "=300x") - the height is calculated automatically to keep the image's proportions, and the Insert Image dialog was simplified to match
  • Bullet, numbered, and task lists now auto-continue on Enter, same as other Markdown editors - numbered lists renumber everything below automatically when you insert an item in the middle
  • The Snippets panel got Import and Open Folder buttons
  • Document style got the same Import and Open Folder buttons - Import checks the file actually looks like a style profile before adding it
  • Picking a document style profile that was deleted outside the app now shows a clear message and refreshes the list, instead of silently switching styles
  • Mermaid diagram themes via Document style profiles
  • Insert Image can now select several files at once, with shared alt text/size/centering, an auto-numbered cross-reference label, and an option to arrange them into a table
  • Charts can now be labeled as cross-referenced figures too, with automatic numbering and captions - not just images and Mermaid diagrams
  • The text editor pane's own font and size can now be changed independently of the document style, in Settings
  • The floating selection toolbar no longer stays on top of other apps after switching away, and no longer pops up while a mouse selection is still being dragged

Troubleshooting

The two most common situations when downloading or first running the installer

Not enough people have downloaded this particular installer yet for Chrome's Safe Browsing to "recognize" it, and it doesn't carry a paid commercial code-signing certificate either - so Chrome blocks the download as a precaution. Two clicks finish it:

1. A bar appears at the bottom of the browser window saying "Suspicious download blocked" - click it.

2. An explanation expands ("This file isn't commonly downloaded...") - click "Download suspicious file" and the download proceeds normally.

Same underlying reason as the Chrome warning above (no commercial code-signing certificate) - Windows Defender SmartScreen doesn't yet "know" this app, so it shows a caution screen the first time it runs. This doesn't mean anything is wrong. Two clicks:

1. Click "More info".

2. A "Run anyway" button appears - click it and setup continues normally.

Both warnings above are triggered by the file having been downloaded from the internet by a browser (the so-called "Mark of the Web"), not by anything about its contents - so a copy you received another way, e.g. over a USB drive, usually won't trigger either one.

After downloading, verify the file's fingerprint in PowerShell from the folder containing it with Get-FileHash .\MdVisor-Setup-0.1.35.exe - the printed hash must match the SHA-256 value shown above.
